animals in the cathedral

As Christmas rolls around each year I find that some things change, some celebrations evolve into something else and some traditions just keep staying the same.

Going to the children's animal service at the Cathedral in town is something we do every year. The grandeur of the Cathedral (thankfully it escaped being damaged in the earthquake), the unpredictability of the animals and the inclusiveness of the Dean of the Cathedral makes it all feel like something we like to be part of. The animals always bring a lot of laughs (stubborn goats, mooing cows, pooing sheep and a general animal smelliness) and fills the Cathedral with life and vibrancy.
Enjoy your children, enjoy your family and enjoy your friends in the next few days and take the quiet spaces in between to appreciate yourself and the beauty you have helped create.
