Making do.

In a strong and connected community it is so much easier to make do and one hardly ever has to do without.
We had a Sunday afternoon helping out in other people's gardens with friends.
Apart from the pure joy of working in other people's gardens where it is easier to notice what has been accomplished rather than focus on the work still to be done, by the end of the day we were laden with gifts that would help see us through the following week.
A basketful of freshly dug vegetables, a dozen eggs, time credits to spend on work in my own garden and a heart full of friendship and abundance.
And flowers picked on the way home.
Loads of flowers.

No money exchanged hands but goods were shared, services were given and community was built.
At times making do just takes a little patience and trust.
